The proposal was the best night of my life! On the night of July 3rd we went out on one of our weekly dates. After a long day at work he knew I needed an enjoyable and relaxing night. He told me that I should feel special and to dress up cute and we would go to one of our favorite spots. After dinner we drove around in the country down a gravel road to sit and enjoy the sunset. Little did I know, he had planned this little excursion to one of our favorite spots. There we sat up on a hill watching the sun going down. He then began talking about how our relationship had been such a wonderful journey and how his life would be complete if I would be in it forever. He got down on one knee and tears rolled down my face. As he opened the box and began asking “will you marry me” I could hardly contain myself from the excitement. I said “Of course” and from that point on was floating on a cloud the entire night. I can’t believe I’m marrying my best friend and the man of my dreams!

Jason planned a surprise trip for me right around my birthday and Christmas. I knew Jason was taking me somewhere for Christmas but had no clue where. We drove to Chicago and stayed with RJ, one of Jason’s friends and I thought we would
be spending the whole time there. Jason woke me up at 3:00am and told me to put some clothes on and grab my suitcase. A cab took Jason and I to the airport and that is when I finally realized that we would not be staying in Chicago but instead were heading to New York!!! I was so excited at this point because I have never been to New York!! When Jason and I got to New York, we stayed at the Hotel Pennsylvania (right across from Madison Square Garden). Jason’s good friend, Kory showed us around New York. Jason took me shopping, and to a New Jersey Nets basketball game where we met Richard Jefferson and hung out at his
house with several other basketball players. That same night right before the Nets game, Jason took me to a fancy Italian Restaurant (my favorite kind of food) called Penelopes in Soho. After an amazing dinner of wine and cheese/spinach stuffed ravioli, Jason proceeded to secretly give the ring to the waiter. Jason had also secretly asked for the waiter to bring the ring out with a slice of cheesecake (my favorite desert). When the waiter came out, he placed the cheesecake and ring right in front of me. At that point I felt my heart pounding with excitement and nervousness. I then opened the box and looked over at Jason (who was kneeling on one knee) and said “Danielle will you marry me”. I of course said “yes” as Jason put the ring on my hand. I was in heaven the entire New York trip but the most romantic and happiest part was when my best friend and love of my life asked me to marry him!
